Marty Smith, President of OutRyders, is so excited for the upcoming 2024-25 season and wants to explain a few important things about some changes. We have included some of our favorite trips plus added several exciting new ventures.
Welcome to the 2024-25 season of OutRyders! As usual, while y’all were having fun in the off season, your board of directors has been busy planning the BEST season in our 23-year history! Speaking of the board, we have a few new folks who have joined. Geoff Soule is our new Treasurer, joining us most of the way through last season and has already been a HUGE help. JJ Reardon is joining to help us with all things social media, PR and just plain fun stuff. If you know JJ, then you know this is the right spot for him! The last new board member is Michael Contini. Michael lives in NYC and is going to help us recruit some of the Big Apple gays to join OutRyders to help us truly become the biggest LGBTQ+ skiing and boarding club in the Northeast.
We have simplified our Membership Level designations for this season. In the Olympic tradition, our entry levels will now be referred to as BRONZE, SILVER, and GOLD, plus our premiere level of PLATINUM. Sign up early! Membership prices increase on November 9th, the day after the opening party.
All the trips you love are back and better than ever. Tremblant is the first major trip of the year over MLK weekend (when you can’t ski in the East because of the crowds and blackout dates). We have DOUBLED our capacity due to overwhelming demand! You don’t want to miss this incredible trip. White Out Weekend at Sunday River is also back, as is the 2nd Annual member dinner (moving to the larger ballroom space to accommodate demand), and of course the fun dance parties at Steam Mill on Friday and the Foggy Goggle on Saturday!
NEW TRIP ALERT: Killington! For years we have been wanting to offer lodging at Killington, but everything has always been crazy expensive or just plain not available. We have contracted with the top-to-bottom renovated Aprés Inn, once known as the Bear Motel. We have bought out the entire property and are able to offer a great price to our members.
Sugarbush is back, but now we have coordinated with the mountain to move their PRIDE Weekend to coincide with OutRyders weekend! Loads of fun stuff for this weekend that you won’t want to miss. Again, we have bought out the White Horse Inn. With their new renovation and super fun game/community room and fantastic hosts, it’s another one of the trips from last year that people simply could not stop talking about!
Finally, we have a double header on tap for our trip out WEST this year. First up is Deer Valley, April 1-6 then Snowbird from April 5-12 at the famous on mountain Cliff House! Take advantage of some incredible prices, short lift lines, long sunny days and POW! (More details about this will be coming in the next few weeks.)
There will still be plenty of other day trips and social activities. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Slack for trips.
Looking forward to a cold and snowy season!
